When I Say I am A Christian

When I say…“I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting “I am saved”
I’m whispering “I get lost!”
“That is why I chose this way.”

When I say…“I am a Christian”
don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

When I say…“I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say…“I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say…“I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are too visible
but God believes I’m worth it.

When I say…“I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.

When I say…“I am a Christian”
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I’m loved.

Judge not , that ye be not judged.
Mathew 7:1
Judge not , and ye shall not be judged: condemn not , and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive , and ye shall be forgiven:
Luke 6:37

This poem is so very true.
We still have temptations and trials to endure everyday.
Our Lord will take all of our problems for us if we will let Him.
But we need to walk the walk, and talk the talk.
And since we are human, we do need to ask our Lord for forgiveness.
Even though I know I am a Christian, I still have many flaws in my life.
But I do believe that if we are true Christians,
we will want to show it through our actions in our daily life.
Lord help me to show that I am a true Christian,
Because I can't do it alone.

Thank You So Much Carol For This Wonderful Poem.
