I've Got Heaven On My Mind!

Lately I've been thinking more and more,
Of my eternal home on that faraway shore.
Heaven is the place I want to see!
Jesus, my Lord has gone to prepare,
A mansion for me over there!
And soon He'll be coming back for me!
There's so much pain and heartache here,
In this old world of doubt and fear.
It sure makes me have a greater desire to go,
Where there is no more night,
And the Lamb of God is the light!
"Tis a land were living waters flow!
When I bid parting loved ones farewell,
In my eyes the tears begin to swell,
And a homesickness fills my heart.
Ah, but when this fleeting life is o'er,
I'll surely meet them once more,
And never ever have to part!
Time seems to be running out.
So Friend, I have no doubt,
That soon I'll be making my heavenly flight!
The desire to leave continues to grow.
I'm all packed and ready to go!
For my departure could be this very night!

Build My Mansion

Build my mansion next door to Jesus,
And tell the angels I'm coming home.
It doesn't matter who lives around me
Just so my mansion sits near the throne.

I have no castles, no earthly kingdom,
But my cabin will do 'til I get home.
My mansion's yonder on the hills of Glory.
Oh, I hope my mansion sits near God's throne.

(Just) Build my mansion next door to Jesus,
And tell the angels I'm coming home.
It doesn't matter who lives around me
Just so my mansion sits near the throne.

My mother's mansion may be close by me
Across the golden avenue.
She was the first one to teach me of Heaven
And the very first one, Lord, to tell me about You.

(So) Build my mansion next door to Jesus,
And tell the angels I'm coming home.
It doesn't matter who lives around me
Just so my mansion sits near God's throne.
